Tempest: Pirate Action RPG
Tempest is a unique open world pirate action rpg with elements of trade, where player completes story-driven quests, upgrades his ships and crew, fight sea-monsters, trades and cooperates with friends in multiplayer.
Focusing primarily on the most exciting elements of being a pirate – captaining your own ship and engaging in intense sea battles – the world of Tempest is set across three vast open world regions for you to discover. You will be able to create, customize and upgrade your sea vessel with different weapons such as cannons, mortars and flamethrowers; and then use it to plunder treasure-laden merchant ships, go cannon-to-cannon with enemy galleons, and storm land based fortresses with your crew. Hire your crew and level them up by completing quests and missions to create the most fearsome cutthroats on the high seas and then use them to board and capture other vessels.
But you won’t face only earthly challenges and opponents, nor all your weapons will be made of steel: sinister disciples of a mysterious cult and fearsome mythical creatures will provide completely different challenges on your travels across the oceans; discover and unleash powerful artifacts such as mystical crystals to escape the enemy’s cannonballs, bring down meteorites from the heavens on to your rivals or summon a giant octopus to your aid!

Tempest was first released for PC and Mac on August 22nd 2016, and since then more than 50,000 of sea-dogs have explored the oceans with HeroCraft’s pirate RPG and enjoyed its freedom: you can play solo with over 100 single-player quests, cooperate or compete in co-op and PvP multiplayer modes and choose how ruthless and cut-throat a pirate you want to be! This new version brings the exciting pirate world of Tempest to mobile platforms (both smartphones and tablets) – now you can be the most feared pirate in the world wherever you want!
Tempest is developed by one person, Andrey Babak aka Avreliy. He also developed Cubium and FootLOL: Crazy Football. HeroCraft have been fruitfully cooperating with Andrey for a long time.

"There is something here for fans of the genre (if it is a genre). The world is big and each faction has a hefty handful of quests that you’ll need to work to deserve. There’s also instant co-op, which means tougher missions, like taking out a well-guarded fort, can be approached with mates. Likewise, the broad strokes of fantasy – the undead, magic artifacts, sea monsters – might be enough to intrigue you deeper into this world of pirates and tradesmen."
"I like Tempest a lot. It’s ultimately a simple game, but there is much to do – quests are finely weaved into the experience. At its best it feels like a seamless story of you exploring the world, investigating it and fighting, at its worst it can be a bit repetitive. There are better looking games, but the design is overall very nicely done with a clear theme throughout the world and its factions. It could use an upgrade in the sound department, but it’s livable. For the price I actually think this is an exceptional game. There is a lot of gameplay here. It’s not quite Sid Meier’s Pirates, but it’s definitely a ripping yarn (sorry)."
"And, truth to be said, the sea battles are kind of fun. They are very fast-paced with the ships moving about relatively fast, turning around and firing broadsides at each other. You can choose from several types of ammunition to focus on cutting down the crew, taking down the rigging or just punching holes into the hull of the enemy ship. You may also have special weaponry in the form of mortars and flamethrowers."
